ALAMOSA, CO – Preparations are underway for a special holiday season train announced this week by the Rio Grande Scenic Railroad. The whimsical North Pole Express will make its first run on Friday, November 23 at 5:00 p.m. to Monte Vista, and will run on select dates to both Monte Vista and other dates out of the town of La Veta through Sunday December 16th. A special trip to the Monte Vista Holiday Festival Parade on Saturday, December 1st is also planned.

Santa will be on board the North Pole Express to take Christmas wishes from the kids, pose for photos and pass out candy canes, and hot chocolate and cookies will be served.
