2008 CalendarMayThrow Mama On the Train--Mother's Day Brunch ExcursionMAY 11 This year, forget the breakfast in bed and “Throw Momma on the Train” to get a sneak peek of the Rio Grande Scenic Railroad’s new dome cars, offering panoramic views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, almost two weeks before the regular season begins. The trip, which includes a brunch buffet featuring crepes, muffins, hash browns, fresh fruit, Rio Grande Roast coffee, and champagne, makes its way from the quaint southern Colorado town of La Veta, a short 16 miles west of Walsenburg (just over 2 hours from Denver, straight down I-25), to the top of La Veta Pass and offers breathtaking views of the San Luis Valley. She has performed as the opening act for many regional jazz festivals and other top venues. Lisa will be performing in one of the Rio Grande Scenic Railroad's new Dome Cars on the Alamosa to La Veta route. Seating for the performance is first come, first serve.
